JANA PELIKAN

Croatian musician based in Vienna, Austria, with a strong foundation in classical violin and a passion for contemporary, folk and experimental music.

Biography

Born on 6 October 2002 in Zagreb, Croatia, Jana Pelikan enrolled at the age of 17 in the Bachelor of Arts studies under Professor Anna Kandinskaya in Eisenstadt, Austria.

She began her violin studies at the age of seven with Professor Hrvoje Budak in Zagreb.

Jana has further refined her skills through seminars and mentorships with world-renowned musicians including Viktor Tretyakov, Natalia Likhopoi, Ofer Falk, Stephanie Gonley, Ruth Waterman, Titus Flueras, Leonid Sorokow, Orest Shourgot, among others.

As a soloist and chamber musician, she has won numerous awards and recognitions at national and international competitions in Italy, Spain, Serbia, and Croatia.

She has performed with various orchestras, including the Wiener Royal Philharmonie, and played in prestigious concert halls such as the Vienna Konzerthaus and Musikverein, and the Oriental Art Center in Shanghai.

Jana has taken part in concert tours, festivals, and masterclasses across Europe and Asia, including in China, Italy, Spain, Finland, Austria, San Marino, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia, Germany, Latvia, and more.

In addition to classical music, Jana also explores experimental and improvisational contemporary music and composition. Her original works, created with the band Panasea  (which is currently in the process of recording its debut album) and in collaboration with cinematographer Mislav Mašek, were featured at the Fujifilm Exhibition in Tokyo, Japan.
